Laméco at The most fun event for Marketing Psychology

More and more online marketing is driven by data. But data means something has already been done once.

How do you make sure you stay unique and offer your customers what they are looking for? Ask our marketing team and they can tell you all about it.

After this day, our colleagues were convinced: We are facing an important turning point in the market! We are ready for change! We are going to do it! (A three-pronged approach for the good watcher, but more on that later 😄)

And we were all yellow 🟡

With good spirits and a yellow wristband (yes, because the dress code was something yellow 😉 ) Iris, Estée and Maikel went to the nicest event on Marketing Psychology organized by the-one-and-only: Christ Coolen !

The event in the Beatrix theater was sold out weeks in advance, but our 3 colleagues were prepared for this and were at the front of the digital queue to get a ticket.

Speakers during the event:

Speakers at the event:

  1. Ralf van Lieshout, Strategist, information addict, & communications scholar;
  2. Tom Fishburne, Marketer, cartoonist and speaker;
  3. Willemijn van Hussen, Pianist, economist & founder TAMBR sonic branding;
  4. Sharon Kroes, Speaker, & best-selling author on persuasion;
  5. Christ Coolen, Marketer, trainer & speaker.
Shift the focus from logical to psycho-logical

What is the psycho-logical value of a product/service?

The first part of the event gave insight into the difference in logic and psychology of marketing. And if there was any difference. We start at the beginning: So what is the psycho-logical value of your product or service? And how do you translate this to your online strategy?

"Value created by the perception surrounding a product or service, rather than from its functional properties. Psycho-logical value arises from the way the product is presented, without dramatically changing the product itself.'' - Rory Sutherland

Why is this important?

The marketplace is getting fuller and fuller. Often marketing is driven on data, i.e., on concepts that have already been done once and are known to be successful.

But anyone can leverage this data and use the concept? How do you make sure you stay unique in your market? That's where psychology comes in, daring to do things differently from what has been proven. Steering the mindset of what you want to show online!

How? Get in touch and we will think strategically with you!

The Psychology of Humor

How can humor work in marketing, I hear you say. Well humor can work very well in marketing, this is because of 2 things:

  1. Humor attracts more attention;
  2. Humor increases brand equity.

'' The best marketing doesn't feel like marketing'' - Tom Fishburne

Tom Fisburne is a marketoonist and brings you weekly updates on the marketing issues at hand, but in the form of a cartoon.

What other components play an important role?

Willemijn van Hussen gave us an important insight into how audio plays an incredibly important role in contemporary marketing. Just think about Netflix (you immediately think of the tune, right 😉?). If audio is used and developed properly, it can play such an important role in videos, tutorials, and you name it.

Last but not least, Sharon Kroes whipped us up by writing and presenting a speech together. After all, how do you write a good speech? Part of this is the three-pronged approach as mentioned earlier. Yes, we can!

Ready for online success?

What have we learned? Far too much to name in this article, but we're happy to tell you!
