Get good reviews on your website

In a world full of businesses, from sole proprietors to large billion-dollar corporations, it's quite a job to distinguish yourself online. You offer high-quality products or services, only no one knows about them. Reviews on your website are then a perfect addition. Reviews not only ensure greater visibility in search results (part of structured data), they also ensure that website visitors choose you faster because you come across as more reliable.

The benefits that reviews bring

Reviews can bring many benefits. Of course, this makes sense when they are positive reviews, but negative reviews can also be positive. As long as you respond to them and show that you can handle criticism, there is often nothing wrong. But what are some other advantages?

Better findability in Google

Research by MOZ has shown that reviews have a share in the ranking of local search results. Google reads, as it were, how positive the reviews are. When determining a position, many positive reviews will therefore also ensure a better position.

A higher CTR

When stars are shown in Google, this ensures more visibility. Also, more stars naturally provide a better appearance. These things ensure that your search result is clicked through more often. And a higher CTR is of course an important first step toward a higher conversion ratio.

A higher conversion ratio

Good reviews on your website also increase your conversion rate. More than 95% of consumers read reviews on websites of local businesses before making a purchase decision. Many good reviews naturally create more trust. This makes choosing your business a lot easier.

Different review programs

There are 2 ways to collect reviews: through your Google My Company listing and through an external review tool.

Google My Business

It is recommended anyway to register your business with Google My Business. In addition to the many features of GMB, Google also shows reviews here. These are reviews that visitors leave directly in Google. Google will also take these reviews into account when assessing your position in local search results.

External review tool

By using an external review tool, you can use rich snippets to show stars with your search result. You can also display them on your own website with a simple link. An external tool on your website comes across as more reliable than if you can manage your reviews yourself.

There are several providers of review tools. The best-known review tools are Feedback Company, KiyOh, Klantenvertellen and Trustpilot. In terms of features, they are similar in many cases. The advantage of these tools is that you can send your customers, often automatically, an e-mail asking them to leave a review.
