A glance at the past
“To get to the cigar factory, you had to go round the back next to the house. In its heyday, Laméco employed around fifty cigar makers. Tinus Vogels of the Collse watermill supplied the little planks for the cigar boxes”.
This quote is from Karel Lammers (1919-2002), of Laméco - the cigar factory - and the grandfather of entrepreneur Daan Lammers. From approximately 1936 to 1942, Laméco manufactured cigars. During the Second World War, the Philips corporation used the factory to pioneer the development of the TV set. The factory closed shortly after the end of the War.
In 2008, Laméco started operating again in Eindhoven. In a completely new guise: that of online marketing agency. We chose the name and the cigar band of the old company to shape the new direction of Portal Advising.
